Bookstore Temporarily Closing

06/23/2009

Fitchburg, Mass.—The Fitchburg State College Bookstore will be undergoing renovations over the summer that will result in a refreshed look and will provide a more flexible use of floor space.

When the renovation is complete, the Bookstore will have new paint, carpeting, shelving and service counters. The new shelving is movable, and can be moved to the Bookstores floor space for textbook purchasing during high traffic times, or stored during slower periods of the year. The shelving allows the Bookstores space to be re-arranged for special store events, and more retail items can be moved to the floor.

Due to the renovations, the Bookstore will be closed for three weeks, starting Monday, July 13. It will reopen on Monday, Aug. 3. Students purchasing books for the colleges Summer Session II, which begins Monday, July 6, will have from now until the end of the first week of Summer Session to buy materials.

Bookstore staff will only be able to respond to phone or e-mail inquiries from campus offices, students and the public during the final two weeks of renovation July 20-24 and July 27-31. The Bookstore can be reached during that time by calling (978) 665-4026 or e-mailing bookstore@fsc.edu.

For more information about the renovations and Bookstore schedule, contact store manager Martha Jordan at (978) 665-4026.
