FITCHBURG – The Fitchburg State College campus community is invited to attend the grand reopening Thursday, Oct. 1, of the College Bookstore at the Hammond Campus Center.
All-day discounts, raffles, balloons and refreshments will be part of the celebration.
The bookstore was closed for three weeks over the summer for a major renovation project. New paint, carpeting, and service counters were installed during the job, along with movable shelving that can be placed onto the store’s floor space for textbook purchases in high-volume times, or stored during slower periods of the year.
The new shelving will also allow the bookstore’s space to be rearranged for special store events, with more retail items moved to the floor.
The celebration Thursday will include a ribbon-cutting by President Robert V. Antonucci at 11:30 a.m. The store will be offering 15 to 50 percent discounts all day and there will be a raffle for a Microsoft Zune portable media device. In addition to balloons and refreshments, the day will include appearances by FSC’s CHEER cheerleading club and Falcor, the mascot for the FSC Falcons.
More information is available at the store, which is open 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. |
